I am captivated by the strength, courage, and vulnerability of women—the armor they wear, their ordinary gestures, and the emotions they hold. My work explores the worlds they inhabit—not just the rooms they move through, but the thresholds they linger in, the landscapes that shape them, and the windows that frame their stories. Rarely are my pieces preconceived. Borrowing from both life and imagination, I let figures emerge as fierce protectors, wild beasts, or nurturing forces, existing in the space between presence and disappearance, darkness and light. The play between raw material and revealed form drives my process, layering thin lines and bold textures to capture the depth, humor, and unpredictability of life.
I draw, paint and make things in my studio in the small town of Fairfax, CA in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am Founding Partner and Creative Director of The Ledyards Design Office, a brand creation and package design firm.
